Mark Adams ACC
Coach & Reflective Pastoral Supervisor
Life and work can be deeply rewarding — but they can also be demanding, complex, and at times isolating.
Many people find themselves carrying significant responsibility, navigating complex relationships, and doing so without a consistent space to think things through
I offer a structured, confidential space to reflect on what’s going on, make sense of what you’re holding, and move forward with greater clarity and resilience.
Drawing on over 25 years as an ordained priest in the Church of England, alongside professional training in coaching and pastoral supervision, I bring both lived understanding and a grounded, thoughtful approach to this work.

How May I Help You?
Whether you are navigating a specific challenge or looking for space to reflect on life and ministry,
I offer distinct but complementary ways of working.

Coaching for Leaders
Working with individuals and organisations, I offer a focused space to think clearly, make decisions, and move forward with purpose. Particularly valuable if you are navigating change, carrying responsibility, or seeking clarity about your next steps.

Pastoral Supervision
A reflective space for those in Christian ministry to process the realities of the role, attend to wellbeing, and sustain vocation over time. Especially helpful if you are feeling stretched, carrying complexity, or need space to step back.

Faith-Informed Coaching
For individuals who want their coaching to take account of faith as well as life and work. This may include reflecting on vocation, values, and how belief shapes everyday decisions — at a pace and depth that feels right for you.
If it would be helpful to explore whether this might be a good fit, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
There’s no obligation — just a chance to think together about what might be useful.

- Connection + Distinction = Calmness
“It’s not good for Adam to be alone” says God in Genesis 2:18. But we know that being with other people is not easy. In my previous insights I have looked at different patterns of behaviour that we may default to when we feel anxious or stressed. These include triangles, fusion, over-functioning, and cutoff. All … Read more - I Want to be Alone: Why are you Still Here?

“I want to be alone” was Greta Garbo’s famous line from the 1932 film Grand Hotel, though through her reclusive lifestyle it was often thought that she said it herself, though she denied it. In this series I have looked at the various ways that we react when anxiety levels rise in emotional systems. I … Read more - Here let me help you – I’m going to help you!

Fix You “And the tears come streaming down your faceWhen you lose something you can’t replaceWhen you love someone, but it goes to wasteCould it be worse?Lights will guide you homeAnd ignite your bonesAnd I will try to fix you” Chris Martin’s haunting lyrics in the Coldplay classic ‘Fix You’ speak of the pain of … Read more - Getting together seems great, so why don’t I like this?

We all get anxious sometimes Most of us carry some degree of anxiety for much of our lives. Earlier in this series I explored why our anxious responses can become almost automatic, especially when events affect those closest to us. In the last article I looked at one of Murray Bowen’s observations: our tendency to … Read more - Where two or three are gathered, triangles often emerge!

Triangles, Triangles They are everywhere. The roof of my house has triangles. My Ikea self-assembly bookshelves are held upright by triangles. The Queen Elizabeth II Bridge over the Thames Estuary is full of triangles (as is just about any other large bridge you can think of). There is a reason for this: triangles cannot change … Read more
